Carbon Mobile è un nuovo brand con sede in Germania che vuole innovare il settore dei dispositivi mobile con l’impiego di determinati materiali. Il suo primo smartphone avrà un corpo in fibra di carbonio e sarà disponibile in tutta Europa a marzo: parliamo del Carbon 1 MK II.
Innovare il segmento della telefonia mobile sta diventando sempre più difficile. Non solo perché sembra che tutto sia stato già inventato, ma anche perché uno smartphone ha dei limiti logici nel design, nelle dimensioni e nelle prestazioni. Ma c’è sempre spazio per ottenere uno smartphone che si distingua per il suo aspetto. Quindi, perché non creare uno smartphone in fibra di carbonio?
Carbon 1 MK II, il primo smartphone in fibra di carbonio
Come spesso accade con le innovazioni, il primo dispositivo a utilizzarle esercita questa “particolarità” non solo come elemento di differenziazione, ma anche come pretesto per aumentare il prezzo dello smartphone. È il caso del Carbon 1 MK II: la fibra di carbonio utilizzata dal brand alza l’asticella al prezzo di una fascia alta. Il problema è che l’hardware non è all’altezza.
Il Carbon 1 MK II potrebbe essere un midrange. Il MediaTek Helio P90, SoC del 2018, accenna già all’austerità del dispositivo in termini di componenti. La RAM LPDDR4X (8 GB) e lo storage UFS 2.1 (256 GB) accompagnano il taglio della tecnologia. Almeno si ha abbastanza spazio anche se non hai una scheda SD.
La fibra di carbonio è l’asse su cui ruotano il resto degli elementi. L’utilizzo di questo materiale distingue il suo design, anche la leggerezza con i suoi 125 grammi. Inoltre, il Carbon 1 MK II ha uno spessore di soli 6,3 mm, sicuramente uno dei più sottili attualmente disponibili (e resistente agli urti, secondo Carbon Mobile). Il dispositivo sarà disponibile alla fine di marzo al prezzo di 799 euro, in un unico colore: nero.
